Public Service
Amateur radio operators can provide communications support for a variety of public service events. Event sponsors depend on reliable communications to keep their event running smoothly; from supporting water stops to calling for emergency medical care. Storm spotting can also be provided for outdoor events if threatening weather approaches. This is a great way to test your equipment or get your "feet wet" if you are new to ham radio.

The Rochester Amateur Radio Club (RARC) is very active in public service and is always looking for more volunteers for their events.
